Indian public-sector banks do not publish one education loan. They publish a set of cards: a standard student loan, a premier or scholar list, and sometimes a separate product for study abroad.

The standard card

The standard card is the one families mean when they say “the bank loan.” It is often available without collateral up to a published cap, with a co-applicant. Above that cap, the bank asks for security, or it asks whether the institute is on a named list.

The list question

Several banks only extend the higher unsecured limit when the college is on their premier, scholar, or vidya list. If the college is not on the list, the same bank may still consider a secured file. That is why the eligibility check asks about the list only when the amount and the security make it relevant.

What we do not guess

A published interest line is a starting point. The sanction letter states the rate, the margin, and the moratorium for that student. Use the lender page for the published card, then let a counsellor confirm the institute.
