A counsellor can shortlist lenders from a destination, an amount, and a yes or no on collateral. The bank still wants a file before it issues a sanction letter.
Identity and admission
Expect identity proof for the student and the co-applicant, and proof of admission or the application itself. If admission is not confirmed yet, say so. Some cards can be discussed before the offer letter; the sanction usually waits for it.
Income and collateral
The co-applicant’s income papers matter most on an unsecured file. On a secured file, the bank also asks for property papers: title, a recent tax receipt, and sometimes a valuation. Missing pages are the usual reason a file sits in query.
What to send first
Start the application with the country, the loan type, and a rough amount. The counsellor will ask for the rest in the order that lender needs it. Do not email a full scan of every document until someone on the file asks for it.
