Most education-loan conversations start with one question: will the family pledge property, or not? The answer changes which cards a counsellor can even place on the table.

What non-collateral usually means

A non-collateral file is judged on the student, the co-applicant’s income, and whether the college sits on that lender’s list. Public-sector banks often keep a lower ceiling for a standard unsecured student loan. Above that ceiling, the same bank may still look at the file, but only for a premier institute or a named scheme.

What collateral changes

Collateral is property or a deposit the family can pledge. It does not guarantee a sanction. It does let secured cards, including the larger public-sector limits, come into the comparison. The valuation, the title, and the location of the property still have to satisfy the bank.

How to use this on the site

Pick the destination, a rough amount, and whether collateral is available. The eligibility check only uses published product rules. The sanction letter is the offer that counts.
